NEW YORK YOUNG REPUBLICAN CLUB ISSUES STATEMENT ON KIRSTEN GILLIBRAND

New York, NY - The New York Young Republican Club, Inc. (NYYRC) issued the following statement this afternoon regarding the appointment of Kirsten Gillibrand to replace Hillary Clinton in the Senate:

Lynn Krogh, president, NYYRC, stated, “Though we are relieved that Governor Paterson has at least chosen someone who has been elected to a public office, we are disappointed that he has not chosen someone with greater experience. New York is a large state, and our new Senator will have to balance the needs of the long-term unemployment upstate with reverberating impact of the Wall Street implosion downstate, and we do not believe that Kirsten Gillibrand is up to this challenge. That being said, we are encouraged that Ms. Gillibrand has not strictly adhered to liberal dogma and hope that she will rise to the challenge of delivering what will be best for the people of New York.”

The New York Young Republican Club, Inc., is a not-for-profit political organization that exists to bring Republicans aged 18-40 together to discuss the Republican Party platform and aid the Republican Party in the education of the public about the Republican agenda and the promotion of Republican candidates for office.
