New Commerce Secretary Weighs in on Census

In an interview with the Washington Post, Commerce Secretary Gary Locke says that the 2010 census "will not be politicized, and the White House assured me that it has no interest in politicizing it."

Can he be believed? If Locke is being honest, then is he placing too much faith in the White House? After all, President Obama assures us that he has no interest in being involved in the auto or finance industries, yet each week the government sinks its claws further into the private sector.
