New York Young Republicans Call for Immediate Spitzer Resignation

New York, NY – The New York Young Republican Club, Inc. (NYYRC) today called on Governor Eliot Spitzer to resign following the revelation of his involvement with a prostitution ring.NYYRC

President Lynn Krogh stated: “Governor Spitzer came into office saying that he was going to be making big changes from 'Day One' - well, he hasn’t made much progress in the way of his policy initiatives, but he has been successful in one area of change – he has actually managed to bring more corruption to Albany. "

It seems that Spitzer has been caught engaging in a crime he once prosecuted, a reprehensible action that is degrading to the office he holds. The taxpayers of this state deserve an apology and deserve a leader is who is going to do just that – lead – not stroke one's own ego and steamroll political opponents. "

The Young Republicans in New York call on Spitzer to do the right thing and promptly resign from office. Troopergate, the crack tax, prostitution rings, what's next Eliot? Step down, as to not disgrace the office further."

The New York Young Republican Club, Inc., is a not-for-profit political organization that exists to bring Republicans aged 18-40 together to discuss the Republican Party platform and aid the Republican Party in the education of the public about the Republican agenda and the promotion of Republican candidates for office.
