New York Young Republican Club Comments on Spitzer Resignation

New York, NY – The New York Young Republican Club, Inc. (NYYRC) commented today on the resignation of Governor Eliot Spitzer.

NYYRC President Lynn Krogh commented: “Governor Spitzer has inflicted serious damage on the dignity of the office of the Governor and the State of New York. We are pleased that he has tendered his resignation, today, rather than choosing to drag this out and further prevent the legislature from being able to focus on important state matters, such as the budget. Hopefully, this will serve as a lesson to other corrupt politicians who act as if they are above the consequences of breaking the law. We hope to see Governor Paterson emerge as a strong, bi-partisan leader and hope that he can restore dignity to the office of the Governor.”

The New York Young Republican Club, Inc., is a not-for-profit political organization that exists to bring Republicans aged 18-40 together to discuss the Republican Party platform and aid the Republican Party in the education of the public about the Republican agenda and the promotion of Republican candidates for office.
