Bloomberg Power Grab Survives Court Battle

It's a disappointing turn for voters and those of us who believe that voter referendums count for something, but a federal judge ruled that voter rights were not infringed by the recent move by NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg and the NY City Council to extend term limits.

The message here seems to be that elected officials can do whatever they like as long as they can drum up some excuse(in this case, the economic crisis) to justify their actions.

Pathetic.
