THE NEW YORK YOUNG REPUBLICAN CLUB, INC.
TO TAKE ON MANHATTAN YOUNG DEMOCRATS
IN CHARITY KICKBALL GAME

New York, NY - The New York Young Republican Club (NYYRC) will take on the Manhattan Young Democrats (MYD) in a game of kickball on Saturday, August 11th to benefit charities of each team’s choice.

NYYRC proceeds will be donated to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, which provides support for the families of military personnel lost in service to our nation, and for severely wounded military personnel and veterans. Because administrative costs are underwritten by the Fund’s trustees, 100% of donations go towards these programs. MYD proceeds will go to the Council on the Environment.

“It’s great that we can reach across the aisle and put aside our political differences to raise money for charity,” said Lynn Krogh, President, NYYRC. “During the election season, political divisiveness tends to get exaggerated, and with the early start to the 2008 campaign season, we are already beginning to see that. This is an excellent opportunity for members of both clubs to realize that even though they may disagree on certain issues, there may be other issues where they share a common viewpoint and in the end, both sides want what is best for this great Country.”

“That all being said, we plan on trouncing the MYDs in kickball like Reagan trounced Mondale in ’84.”

The game will take place on Saturday, August 11th at 4:30 PM in the Central Park Great Lawn, at Field #3 (between 81st & 85th Streets). The fee is $10 for members and $20 for non-members, with all proceeds going to Intrepid Fallen Heroes. Zog Sports, www.zogsports.org, will donate equipment and umpires for the game.

Those wishing to participate in this event should contact community@nyyrc.com.

This event will be open to media that RSVP to pr@nyyrc.com.
